About Next Step Ministries
It all began with a broken life. Dalton Bailey, our founder encountered several traumatic events through his life, leading him to join the military to get away from his current situation. Through his time in the service, he experienced hardship and loss. He fell into to a lifestyle of substance abuse and isolation. He was diagnosed with mental health disorders such as Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, and a Traumatic Brain Injury. He thought his life was hopeless and over.
His time came up to exit the military, returned to his hometown of Omaha, but he was different. One day while living in his car, his mother invited him to a church. After deciding to join her, he entered the church he was greeted with love that once again change his life. He had never experienced a kindness like this before. He knew something was different about these people. He pursued friendship and even was employed by this amazing a gracious pastoral team.
Dalton found out why they were so different, they had Christ in their hearts! After receiving Christ in his own heart, a chance to restart, he was changed from the inside out. After embracing his new life, conquered his addictions, lack of purpose, and brokenness; He chose to dedicate his life to helping others experience a deep and radical change of life.
While working in the field of homelessness and addiction recovery, he noticed that many of his students were relapsing, returning to their old lives or living a life with-out purpose nor direction. This broke his heart and decided to step in and fill the gap.
He founded Next Step Ministries in 2024 and took in his first students right away! Now he continues to help people take the Next Step in rebuilding their lives, by taking one step at a time.
